Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) reads, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." We as human being set goals for ourselves. By accomplishing these goals we make "plans." Sometimes our "plans" work in our favor. Sometimes our "plans" fall short. However, no matter how much we plan God knows what is best for us and can see beyond our understanding.
In prayer and meditation, Mr. Matthew Benedict is thankful for another day. Artist such as Maverick City, Elevation Music, KB, Lecrae, and Israel Houghton are on his daily playlist. Working out and writing in his journal are the only two things that move him (besides making ends meet by working for Sphere). Moving on is hard, but he has been putting one foot in front of the other. He has come to the realization that God's purpose for him is much bigger than his feelings. As long as Benedict listens to God's voice life's tough questions will be answered.
Work hours have been cut in half due to reverent holidays such as Palm Sunday, Passover, Good Friday, and Easter (Resurrection Sunday). For most of this time Benedict didn't have to go to work. All of the audio installers and software installers were told to return to work on April 12, 2023. Benedict is an audio installer for Sphere but has a passion for software installation. He submitted a "fabricated" resume and to his surprise was given a job at Sphere. On April 1st Benedict would finally meet the Founder and President of Sphere, Edward Marcellous. While Benedict was on his lunch break himself and his co-workers were sitting at the cafe that sits downstairs at Sphere Inc. (Jerusalem). Marcellous walked in the cafe and everybody stops and stares. Marcellous is an average looking man in his early forties. The outfit he wore was a pair of Vans matched with a t-shirt, loosely ripped jeans, topped off with shades. Benedict was finished with his lunch and was about to go back to his station when suddenly Marcellous comes behind him and acknowledges him. "Hello there Navy Seal," said Marcellous. To show respect to his boss, he response by saying, "Hello Captain." Although this was the last and only encounter between the two this did make Benedict's antennas go off. Every other day he has this encounter playing in his head and wonders if there's more to Edward Marcellous. Only time will tell what is beneath the surface.
One night Benedict had "plans" for himself. A home-cooked meal and a Netflix documentary was consuming him. When everything seemed peaceful his senses went off. This use to happen frequently when he was a seal in combat. It has been a while since he has felt like this. "What's going on?" he asked himself. Without time to think Benedict pulls out two guns from the bottom of his couch. Bullets one and two hit the perpetrator on the balcony holding a shotgun. Bullets three and four hit the perpetrator holding twin pistols. An Israeli female assassin wearing nothing but black cuts Benedict's left shoulder with one of her blades. Doing a reverse flip over the couch, Benedict quickly makes his way into his kitchen. Arming himself with a Dexter Russell, Benedict defenses himself against his opponents quick movement. The female assassin starts to slip and Benedict strikes her with a slice to the throat from behind.
Death and chaos once again surrounds Benedict. After all the praying and fasting, Benedict felt like the life he once lived came back to haunt him. Despite leaving his country to get a fresh start he felt like he had no choice but to use violence. It's as if a dark cloud had followed him no matter where he went. Succumbed by the slice to her throat, the female assassin coughs up her last couple of breaths. Noticing this, Benedict heads in her direction. Grabbing her collar, Benedict wants answers. "Who sent you?" he demands of her in a stern voice. "JB," said the female assassin. "Who?" said Benedict. Before she could give him another answer she would die on the spot.
It took a minute for Benedict to figure it out but the initials J.B. rang a bell. Jacob Bozeman is the Founder and President of Euphrates. Euphrates is a company that deals with retail and media production. Marcellous and Bozeman are business rivals and have bad blood between them that goes back to the year 2000. Both companies have headquarters in the same cities and countries all over the world. People say that they can't see past Sphere's electric cars and rockets and Euphrates retail and mass media production. However, there is more beneath the surface one can only imagine. "Lord forgive me," said Benedict as he looks to the ceiling. Jerusalem District Police are knocking on the door and Benedict feels defeated. What unseen forces are at play? No one knows. Mr. Matthew Benedict is going to have to learn how to look to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ even when things are looking dark and uncertain.
